The email I received

Hey everyone! As a writer, rejection is an inevitable part of the journey. Yesterday, I received my fifth rejection from a literary magazine, Propagule Magazine. While these emails sting, I've realized that each rejection holds valuable lessons that shape my growth as a writer. Here’s a reflection on this latest experience and what I’m taking away from it.

I have to keep learning to embrace rejection. With each rejection, I’ve learned to shift my perspective. Instead of viewing it as a failure, I’m starting to see it as part of the creative process. Each rejection strengthens my resolve to keep writing and submitting, I have to keep being resilient. While this particular magazine did not provide feedback, I’ve learned that I have to start seeking constructive criticism from trusted peers. Literary magazines often have specific styles and themes. Just because a piece is rejected doesn’t mean it lacks any merit. Writing is a craft that requires patience and dedication, so I appreciate those of you who are on this journey with me. I have to keep planning ahead.

I’ll take a closer look at my pieces and consider revisions before submitting them elsewhere. I’ll explore other literary magazines and platforms that align more closely with my writing style. I have to continue engaging with fellow writers who can provide support and motivation during tough times. Rejection is never easy, but it is a crucial part of the writing journey. The rejections I have received remind me that every setback is an opportunity for growth. I’m determined to keep writing and to keep submitting my stories!
